Did you know that in order to change your gender in Nevada, no documentation is needed?

In fact, applicants for a Nevada driver's license may select M (male), F (female), or X (nonbinary) on the application form regardless of the gender on other documents submitted.

How many times can you change your gender on a Nevada driver’s license?

As many times as you want!

What if you want a birth certificate to match?

For a $40 fee, Nevada Vital Records will issue a new birth certificate with a corrected gender of male, female, or nonbinary (“X”) upon receipt of two affidavits reflecting an individual's gender:

Affidavit #1 – from the individual, their parent or guardian, or legal representative, stating the gender that should be on the birth certificate and why.

Affidavit #2 – from anyone who has personal knowledge of the applicant’s gender identity and the gender the applicant intends to maintain.

We can’t help but wonder…should changing your legal gender really be that easy?

If changing your legal gender is something you can easily do, as many times as you want, what does that mean for men’s and women’s bathrooms?

Locker rooms at the gym?

Sports?
